Dear Elli,
Hey, Cousin, I have decided to visit Never upon Vinre. I needed a new gown for the Coronation festivities. With only a month before Prince Vek is crowned, well, I knew the shepster would need time to make a gown for this warrior woman. Heh!
Besides, the portrait painter in Never, Grayner by name, promised to paint my portrait if I wore a new dress and slippers and remembered not to slouch. Oh, and he said for me to stay out of the sun! As if a warrior could do that, phooey. He also said I was too large and bulky. Hmmmm. Maybe I don't need a portrait from such a blind artist after all.
Which reminds me, you may hear that Rogi, the gnome who is the servant of Barbel, is looking for you. He calls us each the "big lady wrapped in metal" and knows of our love for chocolate. Anyway, he is collecting "parts" for Barbel's experiments. By parts, he means arms, legs, eyeballs....You will know him when you see him. He has a scar on his face, but oddly enough he is still charming...perhaps it is the lovely blue of his eyes. He seems so innocent in his earnest desire to please. He fears his master's wrath, but has worked out many clever ploys to keep Barbel happy and to avoid more work.
I still have no clues as to the whereabouts of the Penjari talisman. Xeli and I have looked for the woman Imaga, whom some describe as a witch, but to no avail. Interestingly enough, Rogi is also looking for a witch...his master Barbel wants one brought to him. Rogi suggested that if we find one, to put her in a sack and bring her to Barbel. No luck so far.
In other news, Duchess Sarafina has been somewhat touched by despondency. That dark elf Teru evidently left a threatening note at her gate. Traiver keeps a good watch over her though. Xeli and I had a nice long visit with her yesterday and discussed all the goings on in the area.
