Fiddlin' Strange

[City of Kaezar, Avanil Way and Memorial Walk]
In sharp comparison to the deep ruts that mar Avanil Way, the cobblestones of Memorial Walk to the east have been freshly swept and smooth. On the east side of the road is a large wooden building with a wide front porch. Also here is Sergeant Khregen.
Obvious exits are south, north, and east.

Khregen grins at you.
You ask, "In a hurry?"
You pant.
You grin at Khregen.
Khregen says, "Not to."
Khregen says, "Was gonna check a trollden."
You nod.
Khregen grins at you.
You say, "Just wanted to pass a message on..."
You say, "Vurlak wants to see you later, if he can. He was accepted and he's not sure what to do now."
Khregen nods.
You say, "He asked me, as if I'm supposed to know."
You gaze upwards to the heavens.
Khregen says, "I should be around town all evenin."
You ask, "Anyway. He'll be looking for you, so keep an eye out for him?"
Khregen says, "I'll do er."
You say, "Grand. Thanks, Khregen."
Khregen asks, "Recovered from last nights fight?"
You grimace.
You say, "Physically, yes."
You say, "I'm a little worried about it still, but eh."
Khregen frowns.
Khregen says, "I still not got de straight o dat in my head."
You say, "I can't figure it out at all."
Khregen says, "Fiddlin strange."
You ask, "Can I ask you a question?"
Khregen says, "Sure."
You look a bit uncomfortable.
You ask, "Do you trust Saebra?"
Khregen says, "Not entirely no, but in the Jhakor matter I do believe she is being above boards."
You nod slowly.
You say, "All right."
You say, "Coming from you, that means a lot."
Khregen says, "I mistrust most folk."
Khregen chuckles.
You grin wryly.
You ask, "Especially us fast-talking Kivians, right?"
Khregen asks, "You had any luck seen de Prince?"
You shake your head at Khregen.
Khregen says, "You said dat I dinna."
Khregen grins at you.
You chuckle.
You say, "I've been beating on Caritas' door every night around seven or so."
You say, "Nobody ever answers."
Khregen says, "Lots of things worrying me right now."
You say, "I don't know if she's out of town, or just not receiving guests..."
You say, "It worries me that we haven't had any word from the Crown in regards to this alliance, either."
Khregen says, "I have lots of peices in my head but every time I get a plausable frame work a new peice appears dat dosena fit me teory."
You ask, "I mean, it's all well and good for the Imperials to say 'Do this,' but shouldn't the crown have some say? Can they move on this without speaking to someone in court?"
Khregen says, "De can move for de Empire but dey cinna move fer Vek."
You say, "One of these days you're going to have to lay out your theory for me. I can't even begin to come up with one."
Khregen says, "Likely dey will make no bargins less Vek makes his feelins known."
Khregen says, "I have had several, right now I don't have one at all."
You say, "I worry this is going to turn into another situation like Kant."
Khregen says, "I am sure that is the objective."
You say, "Eh."
You say, "Makes me wish for the days when it was all simple."
Khregen says, "You see Talone can't move troops dis far inte de Empire witout he edder captures or has hep."
Khregen asks, "You know the first place he has to cross te git er?"
You shake your head.
You ask, "Nellcylwyn? Whatever it's called?"
Khregen says, "Nellcwyln."
Khregen nods.
You say, "Where the ale came through, aye."
Khregen asks, "Whare has arknor been and where did dat ale in Breens come from?"
Khregen nods.
You ask, "Is Arknor working for the orcs?"
Khregen asks, "And what state bordered de fallen Kant?"
You say, "It's like a geography lesson. I know this one."
You grin slightly.
Khregen says, "Dis Queen of Nellcwyln isna te be trusted."
You say, "You think something's wrong with that ale? I've been drinking it for weeks and naught's happened to me."
Khregen says, "Arknor is not working for de orcs, he is working for de mysterious tird party."
Khregen says, "I don't trust hit."
Khregen says, "Arknor is a mage so he knows lots o stuff I don't."
You say, "I don't know. It hasn't hurt anyone. Why would Breen risk selling something like that? They'd have him in Contrition Square in about two breaths if he was knowingly selling poisoned spirits."
Khregen asks, "Can posion be triggerd by majik?"
Khregen asks, "A charm?"
You say, "I don't know."
Khregen says, "An enchantment."
You ask, "Then why hasn't anything happened yet?"
Khregen asks, "Could you feed someone something and later trigger dat wit de right majik?"
Khregen shrugs.
Khregen says, "I donna trust Breen's ale."
You say, "See, if you're right, that makes me wonder about the jhakor again."
Khregen says, "Not de proper time."
Khregen says, "I figure dis Ghuk feller is prolly on de level, but we best be cautious."
You say, "When would be a better time than now? Arknor casts his whatever-it-is on the ale, just after we've agreed to help them...."
Khregen says, "Maybe."
You say, "They come running into town and we're all lying around suffering whatever-it-is."
Khregen says, "Not all."
Khregen grins.
You grimace.
You say, "No, not all."
You say, "Me, though. And others."
Khregen says, "Aye."
You say, "Makes me think I should move to Fishbourne."
Khregen says, "Puttin yer head in de sand willna do no good."
Khregen says, "If'n Vek's seat is toke whoever has hit will git round even te Fish Burned."
You sigh.
You say, "If we could only seek the Prince out, we'd know."
You ask, "Think Saebra will get an audience?"
Khregen says, "De time will come when we all has te fight or run far, de question is will der be enou dat chooses te fight and if'n de cin fight tegedder."
Khregen says, "I has heared dat she received a message."
Khregen says, "Donna know from who."
You say, "I heard it was an Imperial message, though. Not from the Palace."
Khregen says, "Arrived by Imperial currior."
You say, "So it could be anything."
Khregen says, "Dat doesna say anyting bout who sent hit."
You say, "Hm."
You say, "Mayhap I'll see if I can't ask her."
Khregen asks, "Aye, if'n ye do would ye let me know what she says?"
You nod to Khregen.
Khregen says, "Tanee my friend."
You say, "Walk safe, Khregen."
Khregen says, "Er tanks."
Khregen grins.
You say, "Watch out for those trollmidges."
Khregen says, "You to jurion."
You chuckle.
You wave.
Khregen says, "Aye."
Khregen grins from ear to ear, eyes twinkling.
Khregen waves.
