[City of Kaezar, Tempest Road at Avanil Way, Crossroads]
Sitting in the shadow of the clock tower to the east, a large building occupies the entire south side of the block. Extremely rutted from the carts and wagons that traffic to the northern, eastern, western and southern sections of Kaezar City, the road is a quagmire of mud and deep puddles. Also here is Illuriel, Teru, and Severin (stunned).
Obvious exits are east, south, north, and west.

You say, "Oh, for shite's sake."
Teru snorts at Severin.

Severin is a man of kivian ancestry in his thirties. His deep-set eyes are pale yellow with silver flecks. He has a long nose, a pursed mouth, and a clean-shaven face. He wears his fine golden yellow hair in no particular style. He has rounded ears, white skin, and an athletic build.
His hands are empty.
He is wearing an inlaid steel scabbard, some well-worn black leather boots, a bulky trimmed black leather case, an embroidered lavender kerchief, an embroidered velvet scroll pouch, a murrey wool cloak, and some black kersey trousers.
Severin's chest is scratched and raw and his right leg is bruised and scratched.

Teru walks over to Illuriel.
Teru grabs Illuriel by the arm, motioning for her to follow.

You stroll into the building.

[Crossroads Inn, Common Room]
Thinly varnished oak walls enclose this common room. Stretching along the back wall is a grimy datiawood bar, its wood counter warped from age and spilled drinks. An old, rather ornate chandelier is suspended from the ceiling and illuminates a menu that hangs over a small sign, which is tacked to a beam behind the bar. Wooden tables, chairs, benches and stools are scattered throughout the room, and a small lyre leans against a trash can, waiting to be played. Leading up to the second floor is a set of misshapen rickety stairs. You see Breen the barkeep. Also here is Illuriel (seated on a wooden bench) and Teru (seated on a wooden chair).

The aroma of freshly cooked food fills the air.

Muffled voices can be heard from nearby tables.
The only obvious exit is out.

Teru chuckles to himself.
You ask, "Was that really necessary?"
You raise an eyebrow in Illuriel's direction.
Illuriel asks, "What did he do that for?"
Teru glances at you.
Illuriel blinks.
You ask, "Did you ask him to do that, Illuriel?"
Illuriel touches her lips.
Illuriel asks, "What?"
Teru says, "For kissing one of my dear friends' dear one.."
Teru says, "Yes it was."
Illuriel glances at you.
Teru sneers at you.
You ask, "Did you ask Teru to go after Severin for kissing you?"
Teru says, "No she did not."
Illuriel says, "No."
You say, "Ah."
Teru says, "Though im sure Lleto would have done much worse."
Illuriel says, "He kissed me and ran."
Teru winks at you.
Illuriel agrees with Teru.
You say, "Lovely friends you're keeping, m'lady."
You sigh.
You stroll out of the inn.

Severin sits up.
You exclaim, "Bloody Teru!"
Celendon asks, "What happened?"
Celendon rolls his eyes.
Hiroshi looks worried.
Severin says, "That slimy bastard..."
Celendon asks, "He need a smack?"
Severin groans painfully.
Hiroshi asks, "Something happen?"
You say, "Someone ought to chop his elven head off."
Celendon says, "I have."
Hiroshi glances at Severin and attempts to mend his differences.
Celendon says, "Twice now."
Severin coughs.
Hiroshi agrees with Celendon.
You say, "Oh, he's defending Illuriel's honor with spells, since Severin dared to smooch Illie."
Severin winces in pain and thoughtfully rubs his chest.
Celendon says, "Want him slapped around?"
Severin laughs painfully.
Celendon peers at Severin.
Hiroshi says, "Reaomeoaain showaold rrrowuncal him."
Hiroshi nods.
Severin says, "I see...what one gets...for showing their love around here."
Severin gets back on his feet.
Celendon says, "Think I'll go smooch her."
You say, "It's Illie. Apparently you can't hug or touch her if Teru's around."
Severin coughs painfully.
Celendon glances at his hands.
Severin spits on the ground.
Celendon dons his brown rabu-skin helmet.
Celendon asks, "Is he inside?"
Severin says, "Look..."
Hiroshi peers at a large building.
You say, "He hasn't left yet."
Severin glances at Celendon.
Hiroshi slings his reinforced iron shield off of his shoulder.
Severin says, "If you hurt him, don't do it for me. I'd much rather avoid any more unpleasantness at his hands."
You say, "I'd like to burn the bleeding bar down, with him in it. Of course, that would aggravate Breen, but it would be worthwhile."
Celendon shifts his eyes to Severin.
Celendon says, "Nah."
Celendon says, "I just don't like him."
Severin coughs painfully.
Celendon strolls into the building.
Hiroshi says, "He not like me, always snickering and laughing."
Hiroshi says, "I put end to this."
Severin spits blood onto the ground.
Hiroshi smiles.
Hiroshi says, "You need drink, Severin."
Hiroshi nods to Severin.
Hiroshi chuckles.
Hiroshi points north.
Severin says, "I've got drink, Hiroshi."
Hiroshi says, "Go to cappy's."
Hiroshi nods to Severin.
You say, "Watch yourself. It wouldn't do for the guards to show up and clap us in jail."
Hiroshi shrugs.
Hiroshi chuckles.
You ask, "Of course, they never seem to arrest him, do they?"
Hiroshi strolls into the building.
Severin coughs.
You say, "D'you want to go and get some rum or something? Because odds are that he'll come out and blame you, if they start something in there." to Severin.
Severin wipes blood from his lips with his sleeve.
You say, "Or maybe Calan."
You frown at Severin.
Severin glances at you.
Severin chuckles.
Severin asks, "I should consider myself lucky I've got my arms and legs, eh?"
Severin chuckles painfully.
Severin coughs.
Severin sighs.
Severin glances at you.
You act: Jurion lifts one shoulder in an idle shrug.
Severin says, "I suppose Cappy's would be fine, Tamerlaine, if only for a while."
You say, "Well enough."
You say, "Come on, then."
Severin joins your group.

[Cappy's Inn, Main Room]
The old, weathered planks that make up the walls do very little to keep out drafts, but do give the erroneous feeling that you are on a ship and not in a land-based inn. Trestle tables made out of old hatch covers and homemade benches are scattered everywhere. A large, dusty stuffed fish is suspended over the bar as well as a rack holding beer mugs and whiskey glasses. Just past a large barrel, a sign has been tacked up over an arch that leads to a dark hallway and over it is a sign. Hanging on sagging hinges, a pair of swinging doors lead back out onto the pier. You see Cappy.

Sour beer and unwashed bodies cause a constant reek.

You glance at Cappy.
Cappy shrugs.
Severin sits down on a bench.
You say, "Rum, please, and I'm not in the mood tonight." to Cappy.
Severin says, "I've certainly got a way with people."
You open an embroidered black leather pouch.
You get a single royal from an embroidered black leather pouch.
You hand Cappy some money.
Cappy leans over the bar and pours a measure of rum into a wide-brimmed pewter tankard. He hands it over to you with a wink and a nod.
Cappy gives you your change.
You ask, "Want some of this?"
You walk over to a bench.
You put a gray pewter tankard on a trestle table.
You walk over to an old wood bar.
You get a single royal from an embroidered black leather pouch.
You hand Cappy some money.
Cappy leans over the bar and pours a measure of rum into a wide-brimmed pewter tankard. He hands it over to you with a wink and a nod.
Cappy gives you your change.
You put a handful of sovereigns in your embroidered black leather pouch.

You say, "It isn't you, it's poxy Teru."
You say, "Ever since he came to town..."
You walk over to a bench.
You sit down on a bench.
Severin says, "I'm fine."
You say, "He's been no end of trouble. Daren't speak a word to him, or he's slinging spells at you left and right. None of the guards will touch him."
You say, "They say he's got a deal going with Rade."
You sigh.
You act: Jurion props his elbows on the table.

You say, "I thought I'd get by, but apparently now he feels free to do whatever he likes to anyone he likes."
Severin chuckles.
You say, "Gods forbid I smile at him or say, 'Good evening, Teru.' Or sit in the same bar as him."
Severin says, "And I've not even insulted him."
Severin says, "It's a wonder you still have your skin."
You say, "I reported him to Wamphyr the last time he came after me."
You rub your cheeks.
Severin asks, "Him being the guard, yes?"
You nod to Severin.
You say, "I think that might have made him back off a bit, but I don't know."
Severin asks, "So I should go crying to the courts?"
You say, "It's like sharing the bar with a slathering rabu. Nobody knows what will set him off, and when he comes after you, it's your fault."
You say, "Who convicts a rabu? Every time someone complains, he gets off."
You get a gray pewter tankard from a trestle table.
You swallow some dark rum.
The rum warms your throat and tickles your stomach.
Severin says, "Well, it's piss-poor, is what it is."
Severin sighs.
You act: Jurion lifts his hand and lets it fall.
Severin stands up.

The dark rum soothes and refreshes you. You can feel the tension drain away.
Severin says, "I'm going to crawl into a gutter and sleep, I think."
Cappy nods to Severin.
You say, "And, of course, now he'll be lording it over you every chance he gets."
You say, "All right."
Severin walks over to a bench.
You say, "I suppose Cappy and I will entertain ourselves."
Severin pats you on the back.
Severin strides through the arch toward the dark hall beyond.
You sigh.
You swallow some dark rum.
The rum warms your throat and tickles your stomach.
You drain your gray pewter tankard dry!
Seeing that it's empty, you set your gray pewter tankard aside.
You stand up.
You shake your head.
You throw open the swinging doors and step outside.

You admire the corpse of Teru.
Aurora bites her lip.
Vo whispers something to Celendon.
Hiroshi says, "Justice served, Jurion."
Hiroshi nods to you.
You say, "I hesitate to ask who did that, but I think it's about bloody time."
Sasha almost trips while leaving the inn.
Hiroshi says, "Teru fight first."
Ikos peers at the corpse of Teru.

Teru was a male darkelf. On the corpse of Teru is a sigil trimmed midnight black robe, a black velvet scroll pouch, a small black gemsack, some tooled black suede sandals, a simple backpack, a finely carved bone circlet, a bloodstone necklace with a silver chain, and a pyramid-cut bloodstone set into a silver ring.

Hiroshi sighs.
Teru's corpse pales slightly.
Celendon says, "Big deal."
Hiroshi exclaims, "He come now! We need leave!"
Celendon says, "No."
Aurora peers off to the south.
Aurora peers off to the east.
Hiroshi gazes upwards to the heavens.
Celendon says, "I don't run."
Hiroshi sits down on the rutted roadway.
You attempt to steady yourself.
You ask, "What's he going to do, come charging back and murder everyone?"
You hear the voice of An Imperial guardsman ask, "What's going on here?"
Vo says, "Aye, C-C-Cel, let's go...I've got a bad feeling about this."
Vo peers off to the south.
You hear the voice of An Imperial guardsman say, "I have reports of fighting."
Celendon says, "I was attacked."
Aurora raises an eyebrow.
Celendon says, "I defended myslef."
Hiroshi shakes his head and shrugs.
Aurora asks, "Who is that..?"
Ikos searches around for something.
Vo exclaims, "He did!"
Hiroshi rubs his eyes.
Hiroshi nods guiltily.
Vo says, "Me too."
Celendon says, "Little rat cast at me."
You act: Jurion hooks his fingers behind his belt-buckle.
Celendon says, "I killed him."
An Imperial guardsman smiles slightly.

The Imperial guardsman is a human in his mid-thirties with cold, calculating eyes which stare straight ahead, a cruel tilt to his thin lips and a low forehead.
An Imperial guardsman is holding a simple corinthian axe in his right hand.
He is wearing some highly-polished black leather boots, a cloak of the Imperial Guard, a burnished dagger case, some deep blue breeches, and a feathered cap.

Kietal walks in.
Vo laughs softly.
Kietal says, "Hail."
Hiroshi nods to Kietal.
Vo exclaims, "Hail!"
Vo nods to Kietal.
Kietal nods to Vo.
An Imperial guardsman asks, "I see, you were in danger of your life then?"
Celendon says, "And if he does it again, sir, it'll happen again."
A gray and brown kitten's eyes glow like burning embers.
Kietal asks, "Whats all the trouble?"
Celendon says, "He drew blood, and has killed me before."
Hiroshi says, "He was. Teru cast spell at Celendon after argument. Celendon simply defend self."
Hiroshi nods to an Imperial guardsman.
Kietal mutters.
Celendon says, "I know the danger."
You lean on a large building.
Celendon says, "So he died."
Kietal asks, "Terus at it AGAIN?"
Aurora groans and lowers her head slightly, the noise and confusion swirling about her.
Teru walks in.

Teru manages to touch Celendon, but he seems unable to focus his magic.
The red glow flickers and dies.
Teru walks over to Celendon.

Aurora attempts to retreat.

Teru snorts.
Hiroshi shrugs.

A constable runs in and screams, "You are under arrest for charges unknown at this time!".
A constable drags Hiroshi off to jail.

Aurora bites her lip.

An Imperial guardsman says, "Back to your lives."
You chuckle.
You nod to an Imperial guardsman agreeably.
