Shade is a male halfelf in his twenties with gray eyes, long auburn hair, pointed ears, and a tanned complexion.
His hands are empty.
He is wearing some black leather breeches, some padded black slouch boots, a scorched black earcuff, some ornate black onyx armbands, some black satin gloves, a gleaming high-steel shield, a black silk satin cloak with a bloodbeast tusk clasp, a black leather loop, a rawhide water skin, a reinforced black leather case, and a metal headcage and collar.

Thick metal plates have been formed into a head cage and collar. Small spaces between the metal strips allow just enough vision when turning the head from side to side, to see in front. Welded into a heavy metal collar that rests cruelly at the neck base, the entire piece is held on by large weighted balls. Each ball swings from thick chains attached to metal spikes inside the collar that are inverted in towards the neck. The spike tips gleam sharply, mere inches from the neck enclosed within. A heavy lock connects two holes at the back of the collar.

Shade falls down under the great weight of his metal headcage and collar.
As Deloria attempts to kiss Shade, his headcage knocks against her face.
