Regarding Killings and Whisperings

[Crossroads Inn, Common Room]
Thinly varnished oak walls enclose this common room. Stretching along the back wall is a grimy datiawood bar, its wood counter warped from age and spilled drinks. An old, rather ornate chandelier hangs from the ceiling, illuminating a menu that hangs from a beam behind the bar. Wooden tables, chairs, benches and stools are scattered throughout the room, and a small lyre leans against a trashcan, waiting to be played. Leading up to the second floor is a set of misshapen rickety stairs. You see Breen the barkeep. Also here is Bibo, Shadeark, Vladomere, and Leyrn (seated on a wooden bench).

The aroma of freshly cooked food fills the air.

Muffled voices can be heard from nearby tables.
The only obvious exit is out.

Sceen comes into the bar.
Sceen glances at you.
You raise an eyebrow.
Sceen whispers 'You been spoken to reguarding killings and whisperings?' to you.
You act: Jurion cocks his head.
You shake your head at Sceen.
Sceen stumbles up the stairs, nearly falling.
You stumble up the stairs.

[ Into the Fall Room. ]

[Crossroads Inn, Fall Room]
Though modest in appearance, this room is clean and comfortable. Covered by a gaily colored cotton throw, a fluffy feather bed sits against one wall. Beside it, an oil lamp rests on a small pine nightstand and a braided rug covers the floor. Opposite the bed, an inviting rocking chair and a muslin-covered table have been placed beneath a window with pine shutters. Wooden pegs, from which guests may hang their belongings, protrude from the back of the door. You see a stained pine coffer, an embossed bom box, a crudely built vyrewood coffer, and two small piece of twisted metals. Also here is a shadow enshrouded Sceen.

Muffled noises can be heard coming from the hallway.

[ Why is it always the green door? ]

Sceen closes a green door.
You act: Jurion surveys his surroundings.
Sceen says, "Possible return of the orcish assassin."
Sceen latches a green door.
You grimace.
You say, "Lovely."
You ask, "What's happened?"
Sceen says, "The murder... of the Never-upon-Vinre noblewoman."
Sceen says, "Diedrie."
You ask, "Baron Davell's niece, wasn't she?"
Sceen nods.
Sceen says, "Shade didn't do it..."
You say, "I heard they picked Shade up for that. But he always seemed fair with me."
You nod to Sceen.
Sceen nods.
You say, "I found it hard to believe, myself."
Sceen says, "There have been whisperings and murders reguarding those who have been looking into it."
You ask, "Those who have been investigating have been murdered?"
Sceen says, "They have had a sharp object shoved through their back once or twice."
Sceen says, "And... 'suggestions' to stop looking into it."
You ask, "Who's been hit?"
Sceen says, "Speak with Rowen on that."
Sceen says, "Or dentia."
You laugh.
You say, "She leaves whenever I walk into the room, Sceen."
Sceen shrugs.
Sceen says, "Check with Dentia then."
You say, "I could probably talk to Denita, but if you know, it would be easier to hear it from you."
Sceen glances at you.
Sceen says, "Not my place to give names."
Sceen says, "Just to warn..."
You scratch your chin.
You say, "All right, but unless someone I know has been attacked, it's unlikely it's anything to do with me."
Sceen says, "If he's back... then there is a way to save Shade."
Sceen says, "There is also possibility that he will try to deal with us again."
Sceen says, "Though... i do not Fully agree with Rowen that it is the orc again."
You ask, "Is Shade under another penalty besides that cage they've hung on him?"
Sceen says, "That cage is just for the time being... he'll probably be convicted and killed."
You say, "Marvelous."
Sceen says, "Which is not... good."
You say, "No. I don't like seeing innocent folks convicted."
You say, "Thank you for telling me, Sceen."
Sceen nods.
Sceen says, "Though..."
You say, "Although I don't know if I'll be able to help much."
Sceen says, "There has not been any decaying roses or licked ears."
You say, "That's always a plus."
Sceen says, "The Method of operation is the same though."
Sceen says, "And there have been some issues with roses."
Sceen says, "Black ones that have poisoned people."
Sceen nods slowly.
You ask, "What sort of roses?"
You ask, "Not the ones coming out of the graveyard?"
Sceen says, "I suppose that's where they were found."
Sceen says, "From a patch of bleeding ones."
You say, "Well, given where they were growing, that's hardly surprising."
Sceen nods.
Sceen says, "I agree."
Sceen says, "I am skeptical reguarding who the assassin is."
You ask, "Have there been any other attacks on any of the other women who were vying for Vek's hand?"
Sceen says, "Though... there is a framing and/or a coverup going on."
Sceen says, "I do not believe so."
You say, "Something to keep in mind."
Sceen nods.
Sceen says, "Aye."
You say, "Hm."
You say, "I suppose I could try talking to Rowen."
You say, "It might be a way to break some of the ice we've built up over the years."
You say, "I don't know, though."
Sceen nods.
You say, "I'll let you know if I hear anything."
Sceen nods.
Sceen unlatches a green door.
Sceen shrugs.
Sceen opens a green door.
Sceen wanders through the green door.
You shake your head.
