If You're Loyal and You Know It

[The Clock Tower, Mechanism]
Overhead, large gears push against small gears, and chain belts wrap around long tightly wound springs as the mechanism of the giant clock of Kaezar whirrs and clanks turning the mighty hands. Leading downward, a curved staircase of gray stone curls around the dank mildew-encrusted walls of this circular room. Just out of reach, two long weights swing freely in the center of the hollow tower where a frayed rope disappears between them. Also here is Raeh.

Raeh is a halfelf woman of tain ancestry in her twenties. Her large eyes are brilliant green with emerald flecks. She has a small nose, softly curving lips, and an expressive face. She wears her long golden blonde hair in a loose flowing style with several small braids among the waves. She has small ears, a fair complexion, and a slender figure.
Her hands are empty.
She is wearing some fur-trimmed soft green suede gloves, some laced black slippers, an embroidered forest green cotton pouch, a beautiful dark scarf, and an embroidered soft green damask gown with a fur-trimmed dark green wool cloak over it.

Raeh says, "Afternoon, Jurion."
You thump your chest with your fist twice, and glance at Raeh.
You smile at Raeh.
Raeh laughs!
Raeh asks, "And so, how will we use this to our advantage?"
You say, "I've no idea."
You chuckle.
Raeh thumps her chest with her fist twice.
Raeh asks, "How did you learn this? You haven't been consorting with Ghuk, have you?"
Raeh smiles wryly at you.
You shake your head.
You say, "It seems that our contacts were perhaps too quick to distribute our sashes to their jhakor."
You say, "Now all the jhakor are wearing them, good and bad alike, and Ghuk has noticed."
Raeh raises an eyebrow.
Raeh says, "Ah hah."
You say, "Last eve he spoke to Saebra and warned her of this."
You say, "So Saebra chose four trusted friends and taught them this new signal, by which we may know Ghuk's allies."
Raeh exclaims, "And you were one of them!"
You say, "Those being myself, Illuriel, Tracker, and Jayden."
Raeh laughs!
You grin wryly.
Raeh claps her hands together.
Raeh says, "Well done, Jurion."
You say, "I have no idea how useful it will be to us."
You say, "But now you know it, and we can certainly teach it to our own allies."
Raeh says, "At least we can use it to distinguish who knows it."
You nod to Raeh.
Raeh nods to you.
Raeh says, "Jayden... odd that she would trust Jayden."
You say, "They seem very close as of late."
Raeh says, "Goes to show how wisely she chooses who her "trusted" friends are."
You say, "She'll have a hard fall if ever she learns the truth."
Raeh says, "You don't think..."
Raeh shakes her head.
Raeh says, "No, I don't think she has anything *extra* for him as far as feelings go."
Raeh says, "What I think is that he is leaching onto her for the same reason Gavronte told me to leach onto her."
Raeh says, "Information, influence, to get on the inside."
You say, "I'm curious to find out where his allegience lies."
Raeh says, "I'm becoming quite sure his allegience is..."
Raeh says, "To himself."
Raeh smiles.
You nod.
Raeh asks, "Anyway, anything else occur?"
You shake your head.
You say, "That was all of importance. Oh, we were attacked by a large force last night."
Raeh asks, "The city?"
You say, "They only made it a distance up the road."
You say, "I believe it's time we have some signal or otherwise to preserve us from our own forces."
Raeh nods to you.
Raeh says, "So we're not cut down in the event of a large attack."
You nod to Raeh.
You say, "I don't much enjoy crawling to Jendra's on my elbows."
Raeh glances at you and winces.
Raeh walks over to you.
Raeh rubs you gently.
Raeh says, "Would that I could have been there to help."
You chuckle.
You say, "At any rate, that's where we were... Jayden will say we had a darts game, but it was actually Saebra passing on her information."
You say, "I ought to get back, Sin will be waiting for her lunch."
Raeh nods to you.
Raeh says, "I must go as well."
Raeh says, "I'll see if I can pass it on to Gavronte. I believe he's the only other I will show."
You say, "If you're loyal and you know it, thump your chest..."
You thump your chest with your fist twice.
Raeh laughs!
You grin at Raeh.
You wave.
You climb down the staircase.
