Imperial Guard Patrol Reports 2

Sonsday, the seventh Day of Morde
At approximately midnight last night a wagon was seen moving up Trenkin Road. Having recieved warning that wagons were in danger, I moved to Southron gate to find Corporal Shadeark already waiting there. Fearing orcish attack, I ordered him to return to the inn and gather anyone he found to aid the situation. At this point I progressed south on Trenkin Road, and after only a few hundred yards, came upon a wagon being driven by two halflings.
I asked a civilian to return to the gate to gather the corporal and the force he had returned with, and we proceeded to escort the wagon to the outside of Southron Gate. Due to peculiar noises coming from the back of the Wagon, I asked the halflings to open it up (I recommend similar checks be made from this point on) and was surprised to find approximately thirty orcs, and the fugitive Jayden, they proceeded to charge the small force that we had gathered.
I ordered the Gate closed, and we fought the orcs for some time, during which the wagon tried to make it's escape down the western route off of Trenkin Road that leads to the West Trade Gate. Also during this time an orcish sergeant snuck into the city and tried to unbar the gates-unsuccessfully. However he is still at large, possibly within city limits.
As the orcs were finally beaten back, I went in search for the Wagon and found it had moved only five hundred yards or so. Upon questioning the two halflings, by the name of Toots and Chugsy, I learned (so they say) that they had left the city of Never-Upon-Vinre a month ago after hearing about the oncoming war. A week ago they were overtaken by an orcish party, and their family was taken hostage. The orcs told them they would be killed if they didn't cooperate-most likely the family is already dead.
They also identified Jayden as the leader of the orcs, stating that he gave commands at the camp, and frequently threatened the halflings with the lives of their families. However it should be noted that the Orcish Sergeant was seen trying to kill Jayden in the city.
I sent Corporal Shadeark to the Keep to request First Sergeant Sutton's presence. As he arrived I explained the situation and it was decided to place the two halflings in their own wagon in the Town Green under guard (both for their safety and so they didn't remove themselves from the city).
At this point I went to the Keep to arrange the aforementioned guard and found the fugitive Jayden there with friends. He had come willingly, and had requested to be arrested-I had a guardsman summon the constables and accomodated his request.
The guard was placed at roughly Two in the morning, and the situation was ended-with the condition that we would be questioning the halflings further in the morning.
Guardsman Aljeron should be commended for his efforts last night, as well as the citizens of Kaezar in general.
