Drowned In A Tidal Wave

[City of Kaezar, Avanil Way, Town Green]
At the center of a common green, the wide road crests between city and bay, sloping downward to the north and to the south. To either side, a low split-log fence encloses the large plot of lawn. Weeds grow around the feet of a pair of stone benches set along the west side of the road. Also here is Shadeark, Malikayl, and Saebra.
Obvious exits are south, north, northeast, northwest, southeast, southwest, west, and east.

Saebra asks, "Where is it?"
Saebra peers at Shadeark.
Shadeark sits down on a stone bench.
You say, "This would be it."
Grentar smiles.
Saebra says, "Nevermind."
You ask, "Lovely, isn't it?"
Saebra smirks.
Grentar sits down on a stone bench.
Shadeark says, "Right here ranger."
Saebra sits down on a stone bench.
You sit down on a stone bench.
Saebra says, "Oh, yes. Just lovely."
Grentar nods.
Kietal sits down on a stone bench.
Saebra peers off to the south.
Malikayl sits down on a stone bench.
Grentar says, "Very nice."
Saebra says, "Right above the place we all blew up."
Malikayl stretches.
Kietal smirks.
Tracker kneels down on the muddy roadway.
Saebra grins at Tracker.
Shadeark says, "Jester must be a good trickster if the wagon is there a few days and then the crater is back."
Kot walks in.
Saebra grins at Shadeark.
Kot waves.
Grentar nods to Kot.
Kietal nods to Kot.
Kot says, "Howdy."
Kietal grins.
Kietal sips some smooth whiskey from his shot glass.
Kot grins.
Grentar says, "Hello."
You say, "Given that there are hundreds of wagons in Kaezar, it's possible that it was a different wagon parked over the crater for a bit."
You wave to Kot.
Grentar grins.
Saebra nods to you agreeably.
Shadeark asks, "Who would park over a crater?"
Shadeark says, "That would be a hassle if a wheel got stuck in it."
Kot opens his mouth as if to say something.
Saebra says, "The one traveling on the road."
Tracker asks, "Who would ask that question?"
Saebra smirks.
You ask, "Who would dye his hair blue?"
Saebra chuckles at Tracker.
Kietal snickers.
Grentar smiles.
Saebra shakes her head.
Kot says, "None of you folks seen Xelian, have you?.."
Kietal sips some smooth whiskey from his shot glass.
Kot scratches his plain white frieze breeches.
Sceen sits up.
Kietal looks a bit queasy.
Kietal momentarily loses his balance.
Shadeark says, "My hair is not dyed....well the cerulean part is but that was an accident."
Grentar ponders the situation.
Malikayl says, "Not me."
Tracker says, "Damn, nerves are shot."
Grentar says, "No."
Grentar smiles.
You nod to Kot.
Tracker says, "Hold up an I'll find er. Saw er not long ago."
Kot says, "Oh yea?.."
Kot grins at you.
Tracker gets back on his feet.
Sceen yawns.
Kot says, "Where'd she go?.."
Tracker walks south.
Aloradonia walks in.
You say, "I told her to make the bed after she decided to get up."
Aloradonia smiles at Saebra.
Grentar nods to Aloradonia.
Kot burps and wipes some sweat from his brow.
Aloradonia walks over to a stone bench.
Aloradonia hugs Saebra.
Kot grunts.
Kot walks over to a stone bench.
Kot pulls you to your feet.
Saebra hugs Aloradonia.
Kot walks over to you.
You say, "Since then, I don't know where she's gotten to."
Aloradonia kisses Saebra on the cheek.
Kot tries to kick you!
.... and misses.
You grin slightly at Kot.
Kot snaps his fingers.
Saebra kisses Aloradonia on the cheek.
Shala walks in.
Sergeant Rham McAllister walks in.
Shala smiles.
Aloradonia glances at Kot.
Saebra nods to Sergeant Rham McAllister.
Shala says, "Here we are."

> l rha
Sergeant Rham McAllister is a male human in his early fifties with nearly shaved brown hair and deep brown eyes. He has a neatly trimmed brown mustache and a muscular build.
Sergeant Rham McAllister's hands are empty.
He is wearing an engraved brass scabbard, some highly-polished black leather boots, a belted black tunic with a cloak of the Imperial Guard over it, some deep black breeches, a gleaming high-steel shield, and a black wool beret.

Shala says, "I hope I'm not late."
Saebra says, "Evening, Sergeant."
You sit down on a stone bench.
Sceen glances at Sergeant Rham McAllister.
Aloradonia smiles at Grentar.
Saebra says, "Not at all."
Sceen says, "Small city."

[ Folks come in and out, greetings and hugs, small talk, and then the meeting starts. I am cutting out everything except Saebra's statements and pertinent comments and reactions from the crowd. ]

Saebra says, "Most of you, by now know of last eve's events."
Sergeant Rham McAllister walks west.
Aljeron says, "Evenin Tracker."
Sergeant Khregen walks west.
You hear the voice of Tracker say, "Evenin."
Kitten shakes her head at Saebra.
Sergeant Khregen walks in.
Khregen walks over to Aljeron.
Khregen grabs Aljeron by the arm, motioning for him to follow.
Sergeant Khregen walks west.
Malikayl says, "I dont."
Malikayl asks, "What happend?"
Saebra says, "For those that don't."
You hear the voice of Tracker say, "Well then, lets get all secret like."
Saebra says, "A quick summary."
Saebra says, "Last eve, I was approached by two cloaked figures."
Saebra says, "As it turns out, they were jhakor."
Saebra says, "It seems that some of the jhakor do not wish to ally themselves to the orcs."
Saebra says, "Can I please have your attention? We'll get this going."
Shala asks, "Saebra? Forgive me for interrupting...should I wait until you are done for questions?"
Saebra says, "Please do."
Saebra smiles at Shala.
Shala nods to Saebra.
Saebra says, "As some do not know what has happened, I wish to explain it."
Saebra says, "Though, it is tacked in more detail on the town trees."
You hear the voice of Tracker say, "The Sergeants all went western."
You hear the voice of Tracker say, "Secret talk."
Saebra says, "As I was saying, it seems that while the King of the jhakor wishes to side with the orcs, some of the jhakor do not."
Saebra says, "Most jhakor believe that they have no chance of survival."
Kietal says, "Its never good when officers run off to have a secret meeting."
Saebra says, "If they side with orcs, win or lose."
Saebra says, "I am simply briefing those who did not know."
Saebra says, "We have not begun to discuss anything yet."
You hear the voice of Tracker say, "Well, figured it would help with Guards here."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Side with the jhakor and be done with it."
Saebra says, "It seems that some of the jhakor wish to know if we would ally with them against the orcs."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Enemy of our enemy.."
Saebra says, "It was said that if we agree one of two things will happen."
Saebra says, "One of them will fight their King, which would mean a new king and they side with us."
Saebra says, "The other path, that many of them will leave their home and fight against their own clans as well as the orcs."
Kietal says, "I'd hate to get involved with a civil war among the Jhakor. Civil wars always end up more brutal than other ones."
Sergeant Khregen walks in.
Khregen's group follows him.
Kitten raises her paw.
Saebra says, "Actually, Kietal, he was very specific on that."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Look beyond the present."
Aloradonia mentions, "They did nae mention wanting our help with their civil attacks."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Civil war, bad and all.... but if the orcs win."
Saebra says, "They do not wish our involvement in their problem."
Shala asks, "What decides the path, Saebra?"
Saebra says, "Just against the orcs."
Aloradonia nods to Saebra.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "There wont be a jhakor race to have a civil war."
Saebra says, "They will once it is decided whether or not we will ally to them."
You hear the voice of Tracker say, "Lets see, the civil war would be beyond the present."
Aloradonia sighs.
Aljeron nods to Khregen.
Shala nods to Saebra.
You ask, "What surety do we have that these jhakor you met are telling the truth, and haven't been sent by the orcs?"
Kahund says, "Civil war h-h-however is not o-o-our problem, a-an-and w-we should m-ma-make t-t-that clear."
Grentar says, "Its like this just imagine orcs walking down our streets being the gaurds of kaezar this is what happens if we lose."
Shala nods to you.
Saebra says, "Thank you, Jurion. That was to be my next point."
Saebra grins at you.
You grin slightly.
You raise a finger.
You point at Saebra.
Saebra says, "We honestly have no idea what is behind this. I can say that they seemed sincere in their wishes. Ghuk, the jhakor, mentioned bringing many to our side. But, I do suggest in whatever we decide, we proceed with caution."
Shala nods to Saebra.
Aloradonia nods to Saebra.
Kietal nods.
Grentar nods to Saebra.
Khregen nods to Saebra.
Shala asks, "Did they mention the slaves, Saebra?"
Saebra says, "Slaves were not discussed, Shala."
Shala nods thoughtfully.
Aljeron asks, "If I may?"
Shala shifts her eyes to Aljeron.
Aljeron peers at Saebra.
Aljeron smiles.
Kot says, "Heh... wouldn't it be up to the king and generals to decide who allies of the empire or Kaezar are..."
Saebra says, "As I had no proof, I could not exactly accuse them of it. Nor would I considering those particular circumstances."
Saebra nods to Aljeron.
Saebra says, "Of course."
Aljeron says, "We ken there are differences between the jhaktor and us...but seems we could hear them out tis little risk in that."
Saebra nods to Aljeron.
Aloradonia agrees with Aljeron.
Raeh says, "Kot has a point, perhaps you should seek audience with the Prince, Saebra."
Grentar agrees with Aljeron.
Saebra nods to Raeh.
Xelian says, "Aye, that seems the best course."
Grentar nods.
Saebra says, "I will be requesting that, but as you well know, the Prince may not be able to grant it."
Kitten says, "We can gives support to a course, but would be up to Vek."
Kitten nods.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "The prince ultimately decides."
Aljeron says, "Aye the Prince will have the final word."
Kietal says, "The enemy of our enemy is our friend, but noone has a better chance of stabbing you in teh back than a friend."
Aljeron agrees.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "This meeting is all but Moot."
Saebra peers off to the southwest.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Think about it."
Saebra asks, "Where did Sergeant Rham go?"
Saebra peers at Aljeron.
Kot says, "Especially if that friend isn't the enemy of our enemy, but only..."
Kot opens his mouth as if to say something.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "We can come up with reasons to go with them or not."
Kot mutters.
Khregen says, "He had other business."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "But Vek determines it."
Aljeron nods to Khregen.
Saebra nods to Khregen.
Aloradonia says, "There are other things to be said yet. Do nae think tis all..."
Khregen says, "Vek determines what he accepts."
You ask, "Is this something we can risk?"
Shala shifts her eyes to Aloradonia.
Saebra says, "Sceen, I mean no offense to the crown or the guard when I say this. But, an alliance will be no good if the people will not stand behind it."
Khregen says, "The Emporer may say different."
Kitten ponders Teile's existence.
You ask, "Supposing we ally ourselves with the jhakor and open ourselves up to an attack, just when we are most vulnerable?"
Grentar says, "I will stand behind it."
Saebra nods to Aljeron.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "We're dead if we don't find help."
Kietal nods to you.
Saebra says, "That is why I suggested proceeding with caution."
Aloradonia says, "Suppose we become aligned with another race we find peace with...such as a friends here."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Look at the orcs."
Aloradonia indicates the gharkin among the group.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Look at us."
Aljeron agrees with Saebra.
You say, "We need Imperial help, or help from the Prince. Not from creatures who live in burrows and eat us for meat."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Do some number crunching."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "We're dead."
You ask, "Have you seen the burrows they live in?"
Shala glances at you.
Saebra says, "However, as I said to Khregen earlier.... We have the orcs on one side, the Vash on another, and the jhakor on the remaining."
Saebra says, "If we do not choose an ally, we will be caught between the three with no help."
You say, "I mean... they've got larders full of us, in those burrows out past Kemstead."
Kitten asks, "Have the jhakor asked for anythings but our name in ally?"
Aloradonia agrees with Saebra.
Kitten peers at Saebra.
Raeh says, "It is good to find allies, but until the Prince or the guard make a declaration, aligning ourselves with the jhaktor could possibly be misconstrued as treason."
Saebra shakes her head at Kitten.
Saebra says, "No."
Kietal says, "Maybe a limited allience. We provide scouting reports to each other, and don't rely on eachother."
Tracker says, "I be back in a moment. My opinion ain't called for here."
Tracker walks south.
Aloradonia brushes some dust off of her lined white brocade cloak.
Kitten says, "Is not seems too harmful."
Khregen says, "Hold on now and listen."
Saebra says, "We could use back up on the battlefield, Kietal."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Ah well, this is going to just divide the city again."
Shala shifts her eyes to Khregen.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Happens all the time."
Saebra peers at Khregen.
Khregen says, "We have orders to proceed with caution and pursue dis allience."
Saebra nods to Khregen.
Aljeron nods to Khregen.
Grentar nods to Khregen.
Malikayl shakes his head sadly.
Khregen says, "No jumpin in."
Kietal says, "Not until we can be sure that they won't turn around in the middle of battle and tear us a new one."
Aloradonia nods to Khregen.
Khregen nods to Kietal.
Kot grins at Kietal.
Raeh asks, "Orders from the First Sergeant?"
Saebra asks, "That is from the Prince or your higher ups?"
Khregen says, "Exzactly."
Saebra peers at Khregen.
Sceen says, "I suppose this meeting is over then."
Aljeron says, "Aye that is why we move slowly."
Sceen glances at Saebra.
Xelian asks, "What else, Saebra? Aloradonia said there was more?"
Xelian smiles at Saebra.
Saebra winks at Xelian.
Aloradonia nods.
Aljeron says, "Higher ups."
Kahund says, "I don't see how we could refuse this alliance, from what I have s-se-seen, the Jhakor are by no mean m-m-much inferior in intelligence, and they know to fight alone, or to join with the orcs m-me-means death. I don't think they'd have r-re-reason enough, weighing their choices, to lie to us or stab us in the back."
Kahund says, "It would be counterproductive."
Saebra says, "I am told that a cart full of axes was found by the jhakor. It was awaiting the orcs. The jhakor have, to all of our benefit, destroyed them."
Kitten ponders the situation.
Khregen says, "Territory is alwas a good reason, but dat may not be der plan."
Kietal says, "It seems that the most important thing is to make sure that they need us more than we need them."
Saebra says, "We are uncertain of who sent them, though I am certain all of you can hazard a guess."
Khregen nods to Kietal.
Aljeron nods to Kietal.
Shala gazes at Saebra.
Saebra says, "I know that there were some concerns about what will happen between us and the jhakor when the war between us and the orcs has ended."
Xelian nods slowly.
Grentar says, "When it comes it comes."
Kahund says, "You've seen h-h-how many we can kill of their kind, they know as well as us t-th-that w-we-we're far more e-e-elite in battle than they. It comes down to this - they are N-NO-NOT ignorant, and we ARE their only course by which to survive."
Saebra says, "Honestly, I have no idea. I believe we should proceed with caution regarding that as well. But, at the moment, we need allies."
Sceen asks, "Why are we still arguing?"
Raeh says, "Saebra, I've aquestion."
Kietal agrees with Kahund.
Saebra nods to Raeh.
Sceen says, "The crown says go forward."
Aloradonia peers at Sceen.
Saebra asks, "Yes, M'lady?"
Raeh says, "And I agree, this is good news."
Sceen says, "Thus we go forward."
Sceen says, "Or dissent."
Saebra says, "I had not realized anyone was arguing."
Shadeark says, "All I can say is they do not kill me and I will not kill them."
Sceen sighs.
Aloradonia says, "Nor I."
Sceen says, "Tracker left."
Sceen says, "And others."
Grentar nods to Shadeark agreeably.
Raeh asks, "Have they stated why they need us? Can you list the reasons why an alliance with us benefits them?"
Aljeron says, "Ye remember what I told ye last eve during the time of the horde the gharkin were the enemy but now nae are they such...mayhap the jhaktor will be the same but only the fates have the knowin for the now."
Sceen says, "That's good enough for argument."
Aloradonia says, "He knows all this and so do others. He was there."
Sceen sighs.
Aljeron nods to Saebra.
Sceen falls over.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "I'll just stay in the mud."
Saebra nods to Raeh.
Saebra says, "I can."
Aloradonia mentions, "A good idea."
Kietal spits on the ground.
Raeh nods to Saebra.
Aloradonia fans herself.
Shala asks, "Saebra, does this mean no hunting jhakor until we know more?"
Kot grins.
Saebra says, "Wait."
Kahund nods to Kietal.
Saebra says, "Hold on. One question at a time."
Saebra grins.
Khregen grins at Saebra.
Saebra says, "Raeh, most of the jhakor believe that they will be destroyed by orcs if even if they side with them."
Raeh nods to Saebra.
Saebra says, "Their reason is survival."
Raeh says, "A good assumption."
Raeh grins.
Saebra shakes her head at Shala.
Kahund nods to Saebra.
Shala ponders the situation.
Kietal asks, "Do we know how many of the jhakor are in favor of an allience?"
Saebra says, "It was said that it would help if we would lessen our attacks on the jhakor."
Raeh asks, "And that's it?"
Shala nods to Saebra.
Shala says, "That seems reasonable."
Kahund says, "If it tells you it wants to cut off your head for entering it's lands, it's fair game in my eyes." to Shala.
Saebra says, "But, they knew those attacks would not end."
Shala grins at Kahund.
Kietal laughs!
Shala nods to Saebra understandingly.
Saebra says, "If the attacks lessen, they can most likely swing more of their own to our side."
Aloradonia nods to Saebra.
Saebra nods to Raeh.
Saebra says, "That is it. They wish to live."
Saebra says, "However..."
Kahund says, "Each we kill, means one l-le-less that can kill an orc."
Saebra says, "It seems they have a fear of magic."
Kietal says, "Right, next time you fight a jhkor, do it polietly."
You hear the voice of Sceen ask, "How do we know which are good and which are bad jahkor?"
Kot says, "Or one less that can kill us."
Kot grins.
Shadeark asks, "May I please kill you?"
Kietal nods to Shadeark.
Aloradonia mentions, "And they call their kind the Good Ones."
Aloradonia grins.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Aye."
Shala smiles slightly.
Kahund says, "If it says it's going to kill you and your kind, i-it-it's obviously not on our s-si-side."
Shala says, "So do we."
Saebra says, "They request if we choose to ally with them that they not be too close to the casters."
Kietal says, "They oughta lable themselves."
You hear the voice of Sceen ask, "Do they wear banners?"
Aloradonia nods to Shala.
Kahund says, "Didn't think you were that t-th-thick, Sceen."
Saebra chuckles.
Saebra asks, "Sceen?"
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Bah."
You hear the voice of Sceen ask, "What?"
Kietal says, "Paint the good ones bright yello."
Aloradonia glances down at the ground.
Saebra says, "If an alliance forms, hopefully we can come up with a way to tell the difference."
Mathurin says, "The best way to avoid killing the good ones is not to kill them at all."
Raeh asks, "When will you see this fellow again, what was his name?"
Raeh peers at Saebra.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Lovely."
Saebra says, "His name was Ghuk."
Kietal spits on the ground.
Raeh asks, "Are we agreed that we wish to pursue this alliance?"
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "You missed."
Saebra says, "He will be contacting me in a few days."
Saebra nods to Raeh.
Kitten says, "Not going into their hunting lands might be good idea..."
Saebra says, "It seems so, Lady Raeh."
Kitten ponders the situation.
Raeh says, "I believe we're running out of cards to play."
Raeh nods to Saebra.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "If you'd like to just kill me, get in line."
Aloradonia nods to Kitten.
Sceen rises up out of the muddy roadway.
Sceen gets back on his feet.
Aljeron grins at Khregen.
Grentar says, "I agree with the alliance."
Shala agrees with Kitten.
Sceen leans on his quartz rapier.
Saebra says, "I have more pressing matters than killing you at the moment."
Shadeark pokes Kitten.
Saebra pats Sceen on the back.
Sceen says, "Don't worry."
Raeh smiles.
Aloradonia fans herself.
Sceen says, "I'm sure others would Love to."
Shala says, "Saebra..."
Aljeron says, "At this time methinks the guard will agree to pursue the matter but the details needs be worked out."
Saebra asks, "Aye, Shala?"
Shala says, "Thank you for letting us know."
Sceen says, "Which has some irony in it..."
Sceen sighs.
Raeh asks, "May I ask a qeneral question at some point?"
Saebra nods to Shala.
Saebra says, "I could do naught else. This is our town."
Saebra says, "All of us. Not just one."
Raeh says, "Should be easy to answer."
Saebra says, "As it was said to me, "We'll be the ones on the battlefield when this war hits home.""
Raeh asks, "Speaking of allies, has anyone heard a thing of Emerald Jake?"
Kietal says, "Not for a while."
Raeh asks, "Anyone tried to speak with him?"
Kahund says, "I don't trust Jake."
Saebra says, "He has not been seen that I know of."
Shadeark says, "Not that I know."
Raeh says, "Nor I, although."
Khregen says, "I been up te his place."
Khregen nods to Aljeron.
Raeh says, "An alliance with him may be fruitful as well."
Kietal says, "We can trust him if we know that he'll make more money siding with us than against us."
Aloradonia mentions, "Sounds like an interesting fellow."
Saebra says, "Unfortunately, the problem is that there is no definite way of knowing."
Raeh says, "The more allies we have the better."
Aloradonia smiles to herself.
Saebra says, "Jake has told one of my people that he will go with the highest bidder."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Oh well."
Kietal says, "We'll just have to play the odds."
Kahund says, "There's no way we c-ca-can outpay Talone."
Sceen rises up out of the muddy roadway.
Kahund says, "Period."
You grin slightly.
Khregen says, "I will say dis any small band a jhakor dat comes inte town has de protection o de gaurd as long as dey behaves demsels."
Raeh says, "Mercenaries aren't the best thing to have, but they're better than nothing at all."
You say, "You might be surprised. This town has many resources."
Sceen says, "Just hire the jhakor to kill Jake."
Aloradonia nods to you.
Shala nods to Khregen.
Kahund says, "T-t-this TOWN... that's j-ju-just it."
Sceen says, "And then have then run defense on Never."
Kitten grins at you.
Aljeron says, "Not necessarily after all Talone be fundin the fight to the west and it is nae a small one."
Sceen says, "While we cover Kaezar."
Kietal says, "Jake may perfer the surity of imperial payment thann the promish of orcish payment."
Saebra says, "I did go as far as to explain that as long as they do not attack, we will not."
Kahund asks, "How many PROVINCES has Talone l-lo-looted?"
Kitten says, "We just no can find them til we nice and surrounded."
Raeh says, "All I'm saying is,"
Kahund says, "Our one town c-ca-cannot outbid him."
Sceen says, "Kill Jake, end that threat."
Kahund nods to Sceen.
Kitten nuzzles against Saebra.
Raeh says, "I believe it warrants some investigation."
Saebra says, "Hold on. One at a time."
Saebra nods to Raeh.
Kahund says, "For once I agree with Sceen."
Saebra says, "I have to agree."
Khregen winks at Sceen.
Sceen says, "But no one listened to me the first time around."
Raeh asks, "If he were to be able to provide us with more help, that is better, no?"
Grentar says, "Lets kill him."
Saebra says, "Especially if he has chosen to side with Talone."
Kietal says, "If we kill him, I hope I manage to find a way to get his casino."
Raeh nods to Saebra.
Raeh says, "Or that."
Raeh smiles wryly.
Kahund says, "I say J-Ja-Jake needs to a-a-at the least b-be detained."
Saebra says, "Aye. As long as it was known we could not completely trust him."
Kahund says, "For conspiring w-w-with orcs."
Saebra asks, "Sceen?"
You hear the voice of Sceen ask, "Yes?"
Kahund says, "As h-he obviously has."
Raeh asks, "Well, before we get histile, perhaps we should find out what he's up to?"
Saebra says, "Say what you have to say."
Kietal asks, "Think I can bribe Vek?"
Aljeron says, "That has to be proven as with any citizen."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "I did."
You ask, "Don't you worry about someone stepping on you, Sceen?"
Kitten asks, "How got from alliances to killing peoples?"
Saebra says, "Say it again."
Khregen says, "We donna have any proof o dat Kahund."
Saebra smirks.
Kitten crosses her eyes.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "I commented that no one wanted Jake dead when i first wanted to kill him."
Saebra nods to Raeh.
Kahund asks, "E-ev-ever hear of a setup?"
Kahund peers at Khregen.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "But i wanted to kill alot of people for the good of the nation."
Saebra says, "We wished to know if he could be brought to our side."
Saebra glances at the road.
Raeh nods to Saebra.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "People can't step on me, don't worry."
Kietal snaps his fingers.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "I'm not really in the ground."
Khregen says, "I donna make a convincin orc."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "It's hard to explain."
Saebra grins at Khregen.
Kahund says, "But Fyren does."
Raeh says, "Since the jhaktors live closer to Never, perhaps your freind might know something about Jake, Saebra."
Shala says, "It looks strange though."
Raeh says, "Or maybe not."
Saebra says, "I will check with them when they return."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Tell the jhakor to kill jake."
Kahund says, "Fyren a-an-and Sceen can both appear as o-or-orcs if they w-wa-wanted."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "As a sign of good faith."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "No i can't."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Sydreal and Fyren can."
Aloradonia asks, "Now why exactly do we want this Jake dead?"
Raeh says, "I don't want him dead."
Kahund says, "Because it is 90% sure he will end up fighting for the orcs."
Kietal says, "They don't like the size of his wallet, and they don't like gamblers."
Sceen yawns.
Kahund says, "T-T-That is a r-ri-risk we cannot take."
Kahund says, "P-pe-period."
Raeh says, "Now, Kahund, I know you are a passionate fellow, but you don't know that."
Shadeark asks, "Can I kill him instead?"
Saebra says, "There was an exchange as well. Ghuk gave me one of his spines, which he pulled from his body. He, in turn, now holds one of my daggers."
Saebra mutters, "Rocks."
Saebra shakes her head.
Khregen walks over to Saebra.
Shadeark says, "If you do go through."
Aloradonia asks, "They why kill when we can simply detain or watch him? Perhaps he could lead us to things we can nae find out ourselves?"
Aljeron says, "If ye kill him you'll only drive his band against us for sure."
Raeh nods to Aloradonia.
Raeh says, "Exactly." to Aloradonia.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Danger that he could escape."
Aloradonia agrees with Aljeron.
Shala says, "There's no cause to detain Jake, is there? No proof as yet."
Shadeark says, "More to blast for me then."
Sydreal searches around for something.
Kahund says, "W-Wa-Watching isn't enough Aljeron."
Khregen nods to Saebra.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Or somehow get a message to his mercenaries."
Saebra says, "None that we know of."
Kahund says, "Detain would be perfect."
Aloradonia asks, "Bah. Ye mean to say some of ye think we could nae detain a single man?"
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Detaining is useless."
You say, "If he isn't working for the orcs, he certainly will be if some hothead decides to attack him."
Aljeron says, "He has yet to be charged nor evidence shown to warrent arrest let alone the death sentence."
Raeh says, "No, not when he could be a very useful ally."
Kahund says, "But i-i-it seems K-Kh-Khregen doesn't b-b-believe there to be enough evidence to."
Saebra agrees with you.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "He threatens to side with the orcs."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "That's a good enough reason."
Raeh gazes upwards to the heavens.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "We have to be agressive."
Saebra says, "But, we do not..."
Kahund says, "Ya missed something Jurion."
Shadeark says, "I am good at aggressive."
Kietal says, "It'd be better to capture him. If he understands that his mercenaries fighting for us will stop the dagger from stabbing him in the throat he'll see it our way."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "We can't beat Talone in betting for him."
Saebra says, "We do not know that he has sided."
Raeh asks, "Sceen, didn't you say you are a spy or something?"
Kahund says, "I-I-If we do this, there's gonna be n-n-no try about it."
Aira says, "Please."
Kahund says, "He'll be dead."
Raeh chuckles.
Khregen says, "When de guard gets aggresive most o ye people turn agin us."
Khregen grins from ear to ear, eyes twinkling.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Not any more."
Saebra says, "Hold on. Too many at once. Points are getting missed."
Saebra laughs!
Aira says, "May I speak."
Raeh says, "Alright, let's keep Sceen and Kahund from Jake at all costs."
You say, "The reason I enjoy seeing Vek on the throne is because I know the rule of law stands over his realm."
Grentar says, "Im with kahund and sceen on that matter."
Shala frowns thoughtfully.
Aljeron says, "I have heard words of treason of many whispered from time to time...if every time I heard such I rushed out and put them to the block half the town would be visitin the headsman."
Aloradonia says, "We'll stop til we get this done then pick on the lot of ye again." to Khregen.
Aira says, "I have remained silent."
Kietal asks, "A guard who's not good at trumping up charges?"
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Have Good Jhakor pose as the bad ones that allied with the orcs."
Aloradonia grins and winks to punctuate her jest.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "Have them kill Jake."
Kietal gasps.
Aira says, "Now we talk of murder ...."
You say, "I'd like to think that folks aren't going to go around putting people on the block on the mere suspicion of being orcish sympathizers."
Aljeron chuckles.
Saebra asks, "Murder?"
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "In retaliation... jake's mercenaries will side with us."
Saebra asks, "What?"
Aira says, "I think that is barbaric."
Sceen rises up out of the muddy roadway.
Sceen gets back on his feet.
Sceen exclaims, "So is war!"

[ Quite a bit more debate about Jake here, but it's just a rehash of what was already said. We tune in later... ]

Aloradonia asks, "Shall we go back to the original discussion?"
Saebra glances at the ground.
Raeh says, "Alright, listen to Saebra."
Saebra says, "Thank you, Lady."
Sceen says, "So he will go to the orcs."
Saebra asks, "It is agreed, by all present that we should proceed, but with caution. Am I understanding correctly?"
Grentar says, "We can out pay the orcs if we all help this town and give money."
Khregen says, "Jake will have his own problems dough."
Sceen says, "The guard says go with the alliance."
Sceen says, "Thus we go with the alliance."
Aloradonia coughs loudly but politely.
Aloradonia asks, "Anyone else?"
Sceen glances at Grentar.
Sceen says, "No we can't."
Sceen says, "We are 1 town."
Sceen says, "Talone has ransacked a few dozen."
Aljeron says, "I believe the guard said would be nae harm in pursuin it for the now...as far as making is we will see."
Sceen says, "He's got the upperhand in pure money issues."
Raeh says, "Aye, I agree with the alliance with the jhaktor. It's perhaps our last chance at outside assistance."
Raeh nods.
Raeh crosses her arms calmly.
Grentar nods.
Kahund says, "I see t-t-the Jhakor alliance a p-p-perfect and completely safe c-ch-choice."
Aloradonia hugs Saebra.
You say, "I don't like the idea much, but if the crown is behind it, it seems the best course of action."
Kietal says, "The deck is stacked against us, so we need to find a way to cheat better than they are."
You act: Jurion rubs the back of his neck.
Kitten asks, "Put catnip in their milk?"
Shadeark says, "The entire kingdom encompasses Kemstead, Kaezar, Fishbourne, and Vinre so technically more than one should it be official."
Sceen says, "I say side with the jhakor because we don't have a chance."
Khregen walks over to a stone bench.
Khregen whispers 'I need to talk to you for a minute ater dis is done' to you.
Aljeron winks at Kietal.
Kietal smirks.
You nod to Khregen.
Sceen says, "If they stab us in the back, we'll only die a little faster."
Shadeark says, "Also Keyne and other small villages."
Sceen says, "But at least they have a Reason to fight."
Saebra peers curiously at Aloradonia.
Sceen says, "Jake could be bought out."
Sceen says, "The good jhakor are fighting for their future."
Sceen says, "Like us."
Sceen says, "They know that their option is fight or die."
Kahund says, "Jake isn't our current problem, t-th-that can be taken care of in another talk."
Sceen says, "Thus, they will fight."
Grentar says, "And they have money."
Kietal says, "Maybe the jhakor could also supply money."
Shala gazes thoughtfully at Sceen.
Raeh says, "Alright, lets talk about Jake later. I don't think that's the point of this meeting. Sorry for bringing it up."
Sceen says, "If they stab us in the back, they stab us in the back."
Kahund nods to Raeh.
Sceen shrugs.
Saebra says, "Ladies and gentlemen, I am afraid I have to insist we get back to the topic at hand. Then, we can figure out what to do about the rest."
Sceen says, "We will die just as if we had not allied."
Khregen says, "Alse Jake has had his men in Never fer a while some o dem has ties in de city now."
Grentar nods to Saebra.
Kietal says, "The topic at hand has been settled. We're in favor of the allience."
Saebra says, "I need ask one more time."
Saebra asks, "Is it agreed by all present that we proceed into this, holding caution, of course?"
Grentar says, "Proceed."
Aloradonia says, "Aye. I agree."
Sceen shrugs.
Kietal says, "Yes."
Aljeron nods to Saebra.
Sceen says, "Why not."
Sceen lies down on the muddy roadway.
Raeh nods to Saebra intently.
Saebra says, "Khregen, Aljeron, I will ask that you again speak for the guard."
Shadeark says, "Go ahead."
Shadeark shrugs.
You say, "Aye, with reservations."
Saebra nods to you.
Shala nods to Saebra.
Saebra says, "Agreed."
You grin wryly.
Khregen says, "Cammand says proceed wit caution."
Aljeron says, "Khregen ye be Senior here."
Shala shifts her eyes to Khregen.
Aljeron nods.
Saebra asks, "And, as citizens?"
Shala smiles faintly.
Saebra peers at Khregen.
Khregen says, "Same."
Saebra peers at Aljeron.
Shala asks, "Us? Caution?"
Saebra grins at Shala.
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "I say shaellis doesn't seem to have a problem."
Aljeron says, "Talk is the easy part."
Shala asks, "Command doesn't know us well, do they?"
Khregen says, "Proceed wit caution."
Aljeron nods to Saebra.
Shala grins teasingly at Khregen.
Saebra says, "Means you can not go running head first into things."
You hear the voice of Sceen say, "We've not been drowned in a tidal wave yet."
